A rebuilding year

I agree. I expected this to be a rebuilding year, with a lot of redshirt freshmen taking starting spots, and that's what it is looking like. Frankly, I see more positives than negatives in the way the young guys have performed.

But we need to be realistic with a young team. We can hope that those that qualify will out-perform at Nationals, but a top-ten team finish could be tough - esp. if Sully does not turn his season around. Dual match-ups are just so different than tournament placement. You can win a lot of duals with young wrestlers ranked between Nos. 12-30. But the guy ranked No. 25 isn't really getting you anywhere at the tournament - at least not top 10. It is a rebuilding year, and we should just appreciate what the guys are giving and what they might do in a year or two.
