In my perfect world, there would be 8 8-team leagues, not 4 16-team leagues

All teams play everyone else in their league once in football and home/away in hoops.

Each league is paired with an annual, rotating crossover partner league. Each team plays 3 games against schools in the crossover league. No more padding of non-league schedules with three creampuffs plus a FCS school.

No more "conference championship" exhibition games.

All 8 league champs qualify for a playoff. No wild cards or runners-up. A committee is used for seeding and nothing else.

2nd place teams in every league are guaranteed spots in the most prestigious non-playoff bowl games.
