Another reason for a P4/5 breakaway?


Players can effectively do this now by dropping down to FCS. So can regular students.

That said, I can't see schools making an investment in growing players for a competitor. Surely there will additional sideboards or other ramifications. If this happens, no one would redshirt.

I do think the idea of expanding the amount of PT a redshirt can get their first year without losing a year of eligibility is a good one, and will hopefully be adopted. I think they are saying 4 games regardless of when they occur.
