I understand....

where UCF is coming from and were I in their shoes I would be doing the same thing. It hasn't been all that long ago where VT was trying to argue its case to move from independent to conference member which is essentially what UCF, USF and several others are trying to do in moving up to P-5 from G-5. That being said, winning one or even a couple of games is not the same as enduring the physical challenge of a slate composed of largely P-5 schools. The risk of injuries or one bad Saturday is a lot more likely to produce a loss when playing at the P-5 level.
