how would you react if you had left your home, country, and family 5 to 6 years ago to come to America to play basketball and receive an education(he played at Oak Hill for 3 years). I have known the players at Oak Hill for over 15 years now and Sy was one of the best young men up there. Local kids would hold signs with his number and cheer for him..every game he would go over and talk to the youngsters. He is a polite, well mannered, and very mature young man. I do know he was hurt by a lot that was said on this and other boards, as he would ask where people were "getting this from?" I kept trying to tell posters to drop the subject, but some know more than anyone else!! To this day, he has not told me what happened and when I have asked he just becomes very quiet. I have quit asking. When he was here and when he committed, he said he loved Va Tech and coach Buzz. Now he has to work extra to stay with Tech and I expect he will do just that.
