If the ACC doesn't want to take a paycut from ESPN
then the only possible candidates are Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma, (maybe) WVU, or a top tier SEC schools. Notre Dame and a SEC is unlikely because both would be giving up too much money to become full members of the ACC. Texas and Oklahoma are probably longshots at best. I don't think the ACC would agree to giving Texas a bigger piece of the piece in order to join. I don't think Oklahoma would make that demand, but it may require bringing friends and I am not sure the ACC wants to expand beyond 14 football members in the current environment.
No Big Ten member is interested in joining the ACC now. Any member added from the AAC, Conference USA, MAC, Sun Belt, or Independents (i.e. Army and UMass) won't move the needle enough to justify ESPN continuing to pay at the same rate.
