Even if UofL cleans house, its fate may rest with a federal agency

Although it isn't exactly the same, I am reminded of what happened to Morris Brown College when it lost its accreditation and federal funding due to a financial mismanagement scandal (1998-2002). At the time of the scandal Morris Brown was competing at the DI level for athletics (DI-FCS for football). Given the climate of things, it is possible a federal agency could come down harder on UofL or at a similar level to what happened with Morris Brown.
