The rankings at the end of the year are not always more valuable


more data is better, but if you are trying to evaluate the quality of a win, and a team was clearly weakened by injury (or strengthened by a substitution or whatever) throughout the year, more recent may not be better.

and you could argue a committee *should* have people using different criteria...if the criteria were easily-defined and agreed-upon, you wouldn't need a committee
