Closest is "best" and those aren't serious questions.


Georgia and Clemson are objectively division and conference champions because they won the games necessary to obtain those distinctions. Therefore they have defeated or surpassed all rivals in their respective conferences. Arguing otherwise is grasping at straws and flippant.

It's amazing that the marketing machines of the SEC and B1G have been able to hypnotize fans of other conferences into arguing in favor of the status quo and maintenance of their interests. Folks, that trickle running down your back, it's not rain.

EDIT: Not directed at you or anyone here specifically as I know you're just arguing counterpoints. But I do feel like they've managed to establish the narrative that their conferences are unquestionably the best as fact in the minds of many fans. Quite a trick.
