but it just shifts the subjectivity...now the opinion is that "conference championship is all that matters," which is fine, but still somewhat subjective.

If you go to that model, what happens to OOC scheduling? At that point, the results of your OOC don't matter from an NC perspective, so the temptation would be to schedule Mercer, Citadel, and Delaware St., so that you could rest. Or would the temptation be to schedule Oklahoma, Clemson, and tOSU, so that you could sell tickets, keep donors happy, get prepared for top competition, and not really care much if you win/lose (from an NC perspective anyway)?
