Why we won’t see an 8 team playoff. 5 P5 Conference Championship games & 1

of them had little to no chance of the winner making the playoff. It will easily be the least percentage full stadium and will pull the lowest TV ratings.

Said another way, the games that matter the most make the most money. The University Presidents in the P5 have no intention of making these games matter less. They also know if the P5 becomes the P4, the 8 game playoff starts with the Conference Championships. You wil already be there.
