College football show last night, all 6 said G5 need a playoff & own NC.


One of the guys said that he just came up with the idea and he was going to patent the idea. All of the other guys said how great it would be and that the G5 teams have zero chance at a National Championship in the P5 world. (UCF is undefeated and has no chance in making the playoff.) They talked about the possibility of having the National Championship Christmas night. The older posters here remember when Christmas night was a huge NFL playoff game. They all gushed how it would be great football.

Two things, first that has repeatedly been discussed here for years and some of us have been saying it is coming in due time. I will say it again, it's coming and last night was not the first time it's been talked about. Second, live sports with games that matter is the best way to sell products. The DVR, just doesn't cut it for many fans. In fact, it's almost impossible in the day of the Smart Phone to not know what has happened. The networks will love having another playoff with rabid fans like JMU has been building. Frisco Texas was swamped with Purple and Gold and no way they get that many for a Bowl game. Being able to say you are a national champion at any level in football will get fans to watch in person and on TV.

Your thoughts on where this is all going?
