The data isn't ambiguous on where the hot prospects are.


Texas, Florida, and California produce over half of the top prospects each year. It drops way off after that with only 2 states Ohio and Pennsylvania that the Big Ten plays in the top 10 (PA is number 10). Those are in the Big Ten East. How often does Nebraska play in Ohio and Pennsylvania?

So Nebraska has to recruit against P5 schools located in the top states as well as the other conference members of those P5 schools that play in those states regularly. Good luck! They will get some on reputation that is fading, but they won't get the number needed to win like before. Doesn't matter who the coach is.
