Consistent problem with Tech O (going back even to last year)

Here in Oklahoma an independent station is showing a replay of the VT v. Pitt game in 2016. It is so clear that without Jerod Evans athleticism we would have been in real trouble in that one. The O-line is adequate at pass blocking but is clearly below average in run blocking. At one point the announcer says "I don't know why Tech keeps running the ball inside" as they clearly and consistently could not get yardage. The only times they ran the ball well is when J.E. simply pushed his way through and around defenders. While Ford and Hodges made some nice grabs J.E. got the ball in their vicinity. J.E. was a dynamic player who played with a lot of intensity and fire. JJ is nice, good kid who, thus far, is a decent, even good 'system' QB but he clearly doesn't have the fire and dynamism that our O will need until our Offensive Line ever comes around. We need a more intense and athletic QB to succeed .
