True about basketball, but if the BE has Penn State & Miami in football


the Big East football schools survive. It probably has a different name, but it survives. They probably break off and when (to answer your questions below too) VT leads the way for all of them to sign and stay with the Big East football schools, everyone signs...instead of everyone knowing when Miami and BC would not sign the conference was doomed. Like the article said, the ACC in football was much weaker then. Having Miami to the south, Penn State to the north and even VT and WVUyou are a much better than the ACC in football.

As far as Penn State to B1G, Paterno did not want a mid-western conference. He said repeatedly he wanted an eastern conference. As successful as they have been they are still tier 2 in the B!G. Michigan and Ohio State will always be tier 1. Nebraska has the same problem from a cultural stand point. It's not about performance, it's about culture.
