It would have been lousy if the Hokies had lost to the Blue Devils because Duke has clearly slipped, whereas the Tech has gotten better.

Miami this weekend is an unknown. Richt clearly has the Canes improving. Their 7-0 record and great recruiting class show it. I'm guessing now, Richt sees his former Georgia team at #1 in the nation, and his eyes are on the Bulldogs, and the Hokies are a roadblock in the way.

But this is a rivalry game. The last 17 years, Tech has won nine times, Miami as won eight times. The teams are evenly matched (yes, Tech has a slight advantage on defense), and the game is in Miami.
