most of the teams that have been successful for any stretch.

Only a few teams (Yankees, Dodgers, sawx) have the resources to rebuild without bottoming out. They can sign big names to short contracts and trade them for prospects and eat salary as a way to rebuild the farm system quickly.

Os fans should look at this and be sad. Their ownership has never accepted being the worst, but always tries to band-aid, resulting in not good, but not bad enough to rebuild (decisions the last 2 offseasons have put off the process another 5 years at least).
