Not sure how much was a tank job and how much was no talent


The system was bare and not developing any talent. What they did was not waste money on a bunch of free agent contracts so they could be mediocre.

They rebuilt the system from the ground up, new approach, new people top to bottom with a very analytics focused approach.

Their one big miss though was taking Mark Appel over Chris Bryant. Appel was the next Strausbourg out of Stanford but hasn't panned out (looks like a AAA ceiling). Imagine this team with Chris Bryant in the lineup....yikes.
