Should've resigned before getting on the plane from T&T.

They hired him to get them to World Cup 2018. Had he done so, then I would have expected him to be replaced at some point after the World Cup (unless they had some unbelievable run through that tournament), as that is what usually happens. I always thought of Arena as a stopgap to bridge the Klinsmann failure to whoever the next manager would be.

He/They failed, so the decision was made earlier than most people would have thought when he was hired.
