The Adidas stuff shows a connection between recruits
....being paid and their NBA shoe commitments. That's a high level recruit where that's even a negotiable equation. Top 10%, maybe.
VT recruits in the next tier, guys who likely won't have a shoe contract in their lifetime. Under my rock, those kids arent getting paid. The equation doesn't make any sense. besides NAW, we haven't landed guys with NBA potential. Maybe we have recruited and lost others, but not many. Maybe Walker.
Nolley looks like a typical VT recruit. I would be surprised if his recruitment would elicit any shoe investment (which is what the Adidas stuff is).
But the bottom line is that all college basketball is greasy. Is it so hard to wish the kid well, take the high road and not question his integrity? Nolley is a perfect example, he's still considering us but we're questioning his integrity.
