I do think something clicked today for Kurt. In Kris's "Notes" article,
Kurt mentioned maturity and growth and I did see that today. More determination (those runs for 1st down were great) and more awareness and willingness to look around.
He seemed a bit "reactionary" and tunnel-visioned in the beginning of the game - kind of like last year when he wasn't getting enough time. That changed quite a bit with the drive that ended the 2d quarter when Anae figured out how to help the guys set up for the Duke defense. Hoodeyo has some good posts on this - that it wasn't so much manpower or lack of execution - but confusion on the part of the OL. Whatever it was, Anae's adjustment(s) worked pretty gosh darn well and certainly seemed to help Kurt get his legs under him, too.
