Things I thought from last night's game (warning:positive)

First, Josh Jackson calmed down as the game wore on and got better and better. This was his 5th college game against what could be the best defense he will ever face. I predict he will leap in growth from last night.
Second, when the offense quit being so cute, they ran the ball fairly well. The RPO stuff, little misdirections didn't work as well as handing the ball off and go.
Third, VT is a very physical team. It was the Clemson bodies being carried off the field.
Fourth, Fuente teams don't quit. The Hokies kept coming back and fighting. Herbie said it was over at beginning of 3rd quarter (24-3), but this offense got better and better. I was still thinking they had a chance into the 4th quarter.
Last for this, different freshmen got better as the game progressed and that started with the punter. He was overwhelmed at first, but was back to bombing punts after a couple of weak ones.
There was just a lot of positive take-aways for this team last night.
