I'm not nervous. I'm excited for the game....

I want another shot at the champs (I mean that respectfully), I want Gameday in the Burg, I want Lane overflowing with people.

The tables have turned in this series. In the early 2000s, VT was all the rage. Vick gave us 5-6 years of solid recruiting and we were a consistently ranked in the top 10. We were also in the middle of a streak of flat out whipping Clemson. We won 4 ACC Titles in 7 years after joining the conference. Clemson aspired to be what VT was during that stretch (and don't say you aspired to win the natty every year back then....Clemson was a constant underachiever). We wanted to win the ACC and compete for a natty every year.

As Beamer aged and recruiting slowed, Clemson started taking off and in 2011, the baton was passed.
VT slid down the rankings, had a few tough seasons and eventually Beamer retired. Fuente comes in and overachieves with less talent and is in the early process of rebuilding just like Dabo did, only Dabo is 7 seasons in and has reached the goal that VT set out to achieve. Now Clemson is the standard that VT aspires to become. It's all cyclical.....

Saturday we get a chance to take a step forward. If we win it doesn't mean we've arrived. It means we're one step closer to where we want to be.

Bring it on Clemson....we have nothing to lose in this one.
