please pay close attention to the phrase:
Matt. 24:6b "... see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end."
and ...

24:8 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs." ...and He goes on to describe more predecessors. ::birth pangs is a metaphor for events at the BEGINNING of the end.

24: 35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away.

24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone."
