The flag was thrown because the pass was completed ahead of the LOS
However, the flag was correctly picked up because what is important is when the receiver first touches the ball. When he first touched the ball (when he bobbled it), he still had one foot behind the line. Because he still had a foot behind the LOS at the time of first touch, there was no penalty. He completed the catch a yard or two past the LOS, but that's not what matters, but it's probably what the refs initially saw.
Of course, had there not been a lineman down field, none of it would have mattered. But because there was a lineman downfield, the first touch had to be by someone behind the LOS.
