Carden and his WRs. The coaching change isn't the only reason they fell off the face of the earth after firing McNeil. I don't think they upgraded necessarily, but sometimes you have to make a move BEFORE things get too bad. In fact, they may have made a move a year too late. But they would have gotten a lot of flack for firing McNeil at that time.

Yes, McNeil gets credit for firing Riley. However, the athletic department also has to look at the future with McNeil going forward now that Riley is no longer in the picture. There is WAY more to go into these decisions than just a simple recent record.

The cliff dive the program has taken is largely McNeil's creation.
