The ACC wanted presence in those states.


I look at it as creating visibility for the ACC in Pennsylvania, New York, and Massachusetts. It's up to the league and the schools to market how much visibility we get, but we get a lot more by being there than by not being there. Options in New York and Massachusetts are very limited past Syracuse and Boston College, so I'm happy with them. There is a better option in Pennsylvania, but they weren't interested. So I'm happy with Pittsburgh.

To get eastern Pennsylvania, the ACC might need Temple. But before I did that, I'd be interested in new states like West Virginia and Connecticut. WVU and UConn don't share their states with other options.
