But the original point was about fan support, and butts in the seats was far from the UFL's problem. They got the local support. Everything else was the problem. They kept flirting with moving to the spring (as they should have) but they never had the guts to make the move.

And yes, messing with the NFL is a major mistake. And was again, the UFL's fatal flaw.
