I agree with you. However, football doesn't really have much

competition for consumer dollars in the Fall. The World Series may be its closest competition and you could probably say it is a distant second at best. So when organizations have a monopoly on something or a time period, I am not sure they ever truly plan for a scenario when their revenue stream runs dry. If a new sport is trying to establish a foothold in the US market, then Fall will be the last season they decide to compete in because they know how much control football has on that season.
