Texas adds the state of Texas. Not the Nation.

ESPN has proven that in spades with the Longhorn Network. Not much interest in it outside of Texas.

UT-Austin would bring the ACC into Texas, but they would need natural regional rivals with them to keep everyone in Texas interested. Texas has no existing rivalries with anyone in the ACC at this point that I know of. So I don't see adding Texas into a 16 team ACC as very healthy. We would need to be talking 20 team ACC.

Looks good on paper, but not so much in practice. We're already working through the period of getting ND fans interested in ACC teams flowing through Notre Dame Stadium at the expense of losing Big Ten teams. The same would occur in Texas. I can just hear the cries of "Why are we paying for tickets to see NC State?" I saw that on the ND message board a couple of weeks ago.

West Virginia and Virginia Tech will sell out FedEx field on the other hand. Everyone in the seats will know why they paid for the ticket.
