I think that there are other options better than those.


The only one of the group you mention I think could work is Tulane, but only in a grouping that has Texas included. They are too small on their own with very little athletic tradition other than perhaps baseball. They have an established rivalry with LSU, the Battle for the the Rag, which LSU likes to call the Tiger Rag. It's like the Duke-UNC bell idea. But Joe Alleva at LSU recently pulled the plug on the whole thing refusing to play in New Orleans anymore. So I think that rivalry is on life support. Perhaps it can be revived. Who knows?

I still think that the ACC should stick with the east in West Virginia and UConn for choices. We would not have conference overlap in either case in those states.
