If the ACC was to go down this road and public state which games

it consider a "must," then it would probably only say 3.

1. The South's Oldest Rivalry - the ACC doesn't want to give up having a leg over the SEC in terms of having the longest continuous conference rivalry in the southeast.

2. FSU-Da U Game - shows the importance of FL to the league

3. - Clemson-FSU Game - right now the ACC's only SEC-caliber game.

However, the more realistic scenario would probably asking each school for a list of games that it considers to be a "must." Then figure out a common number that would apply to all schools (since the ACC sees itself as being equals). Most likely that number would be 3 or 4 because of the NC schools. 3 would allow the NC schools to play 2 other NC schools every year plus 1 non-NC school. 4 would allow the NC schools to play each other every year plus keep the "South's Oldest Rivalry" and the "Textile Bowl" as annual conference games. The only issue with 4 games is I am not sure the other schools could come up with at least 3 "must" games to keep the "forced" games down to only 1. So most would probably end up with 2 or 3 "forced" games.
