When there was no thread here on this....
I said "Fine", because It is how you treat a pest--ignore him/her, but I'll chime in. Paul Woody hasn't written anything noteworthy in twenty years. His style is choppy and disjointed. He focuses on a narrow moral position which is most always predictable (he'll throw in the occasional curveball). Like most of his stuff, he misses the broad picture, boiling things down to "Good" or "Bad". Dogfighting not withstanding:
Cultural icon
National Championship game
One of our own
Did his time
Seventeen years later, a key element of the Virginia Tech brand in a multi-million dollar industry
From the HOF's perspective, what use would it serve to give Mike the Pete Rose treatment? Zip, Nada, Zero. I have made mistakes in my life, and I don't recall anyone trying to step on my neck, like Woody does here.
