For those yearning for a P4, ACC GOR expires in 10 years
If a P4 happens around then, all the ACC teams are back in play. With things moving toward viewership over states, FSU/Clemson could be more attractive to the SEC than before. Texas would be the first option but SEC may not want their ego and Texas could make the B12 survive instead. Losing FSU/Clem would crush the ACC (more money for SEC) and make for an unattractive conference especially with having to fill 4 slots with leftover candidates. If FSU/Clem do move before a B12 collapse, what is to say B12 does not win out over ACC with Texas/OK in tow (assuming OK wants to keep a SW-based conference)? B12 and B1G would tussle over UNC. Most attractive ACC schools would fill out the B1G/B12. All very unlikely but we are dealing with hypotheticals here. ND could stop this but they are not joining a P4 in this hypothetical.
For those wishing for a B12 collapse in the near future, that is only going to make the B1G stronger and maybe the Pac.
