A deer tick found me about 2 1/2 weeks ago when I was in Shenandoah National Park. By the time I noticed it the thing had been there long enough to infect me.

I had been very careful with the bug spray too but apparently it latched onto my pack or something and came after me after I had cleaned up. I'm used to dealing with wood (dog) ticks and this is the first deer tick I had ever run into. I read up on symptoms when I got home and I was keeping an eye on the location. Sure enough the first sign of the rash developed 2 weeks later and I was able to get to the doctor right away.
