Steven Peoples
You know, when I heard that Peoples was moving up towards #1 on the RB depth chart, I was a little disappointed because I'm a big fan of Travon McMillan.
Then I read his bio on the Hokie Sports Roster and watched his senior highlights video at Galax.
I was unaware that he averaged 12.6 yards per carry, ran for 3,078 yards and 44 touchdowns as a senior in 2013 and Set a VHSL record with 502 rushing yards on 22 carries in one game.
Take a look at the highlight video. Check out the runs at the 12:15 and 12:45 mark. Gives me chills.
This kid is going to make some noise this season. At 5'-9", 215 lbs. he's got quick feet, good acceleration (reminds me of NFLer Doug Martin) but the thing I like most is his effort, his yards after initial contact. It's one thing to out-run the defense when you got a clear path but SP does more. His balance and vision are off the charts. I don't know how he wasn't rated higher than 2 stars and I can see why the VT coaches are so high on him. [Post edited by YBYSAIAHokie at 06/16/2017 2:57PM]
