Problem is Machado is a FA after next year

Seems unlikely they will pony up the bucks its gonna take to keep him so in addition to Davis's contract which is going to be hard to move and will become an issue in a rebuild, Jones is signed through 18 and Trumbo through 19.

Only Jones seems movable unless the Yankees or Dodgers decide they need a HR or K first baseman which seems unlikely.

So do you then move Machado? If not you're not gonna have much around him so it seems like a waste not to sell him and get a big bank back. But that tells the fans you're done for a few years (again). Back to rebuilding after 4 years of moderate success after 15 years of suck?

Their best bet is hang onto all of them and fire Buck at the end of the season. Sign a couple FA pitchers in the off-season and win the world series next year. Worked for the Yankees and D-Backs right?

  Agreed. But given the GM/Mgr situation, they won't -- VTECHFAN 06/15/2017 1:21PM
