Stech being in the ACC matters.

but not to the levels many on here are assuming. See my post to HOO above. This is about opportunity. The ACC is a better baseball conference than the B1G, but if PSU decided to dump a lot of dough into baseball, they'd be just as an appealing move as Tech to a guy like Szefc. Maybe even better since it's closer to where he grew up.

If UMCP took baseball as seriously as Babcock, Szefc may still be there.

I think Whit has a lot of pressure to keep up with the mighty giant in Charlottesville. That's where Tech baseball is becoming a lure.
