I don't think the B1G will take OU, at least not without UT


Yes, NU was added despite not being AAU, but they had been very recently, and their removal was mainly due to AAU no longer recognizing agricultural research in their metrics.

The core of the B1G has been together since the 19th century. The presidents and BOVs certainly recognize the importance of sports, primarily football, to its alums, but I'm nit sure they're going to completely abandon AAU status for expansion. OU is nowhere near AAU status and doesn't have a very large research budget. I can see the B1G taking a pass and hoping UT might be available neat the end of the LHN, and take Ku and UT down the road.

OU might be attractive to the SEC, but who along with them would make sense and pull their own weight. The SEC might prefer less mouths to feed in the light of cord cutting and reduced carriage revenue.

Assuming UT doesn't bolt at the end of the B12 contract, I think it's conceivable that No one expands and OU is stuck in the B12 with a reduced B12 contract.
