You're right, he was not the only one to vote against UVA

And honestly I thought people were being a little bit paranoid about the Babcock angle until I read this Teel article. Until I read the article I did not realize that the regional representative is supposed to present data and answer questions regarding the schools in the region. In this instance the main factor working against UVA was nonconference strength of schedule. Due to the geographic location of UVA (and VT too, for that matter) its nearly impossible to schedule midweek games with low RPI opponents. Clemson can bus two hours down the road and play SC on any given Wednesday night, but if teams like ODU, Liberty and VCU are not having good seasons, its hard to control that RPI number. And I think the point is, as the regional representative, this is the kind of thing that Babcock should be pointing out. Obviously the West Coast committee member is not going to know anything about baseball competition in the mid-Atlantic region.

So not only does it appear that he did not vote for UVA, but it seems doubtful that he made a case for us. I think we as UVA fans feel frustrated by this, especially when every baseball pundit and journalist felt like UVA deserved the bid over Clemson.
