The guys doin the negotiating matter. No industry fully works like that.


When you're at the negotiating table, it's your job to build up the value of what you're selling. Clearly the other leagues are able to do that far better than the ACC.

When I go to sell a car, it's my job to make it seem as valuable as possible to the buyer. We don't just go on what the blue book tells us, at least not most of the time. It can be a guide for sure though.

However, when it comes to something like content for a network, it's even more difficult to determine what the actual value of the product in question truly is.

Anyhow, keep on keep'n on with the excuses. I think my NFL versus NBA analogy is correct. Sure, the NFL kills the NBA head to head. But, you get triple the hours of content with the purchase of the NBA. That's why the NBA isn't all that far behind the NFL in TV money. It's certainly nothing like an 80/20 split that some have thrown out there for college fball and bball. Heck, I think it should actually be a bit closer for the college product. I bet Duke is a bigger national TV ratings grabber than the Charlotte Hornets. Maybe.
