If the SEC was a goose, then it already laid its golden egg

The money the SEC has made while the ACC has been waiting for the ACCN to launch has given the SEC a huge financial advantage. Also, consider that the payout for the ACCN will probably not equal to the payout of the SECN and it may not even be in the same ballpark. The SEC may find itself in trouble when it comes time to negotiate the next contract. Even if the SEC ends up taking a cut in its payout (compared to now), it may still end up being more than the ACC's payout. Plus, if the SEC decides to go shopping with other networks, then its overall content may be more valuable than the ACC's content. Assuming that NBC ended its relationship with Notre Dame football and has the option to either get involved with the ACCN or SECN, then I am not sure it is a slam dunk that NBC would pick the ACCN.
