How about people who use "penultimate" as a substitute for "ulimate?"


Some nimrods have it in their head that penultimate means "more than ultimate" or "the pinnacle of being ultimate," or something stupid like that.

The word has a meaning. It means "next to last." That's it. Using it in any other reference is simply wrong. And people who do so look like morons in the process.
