AAU status is like playing Calvinball


The criteria for joining are always just seemingly out of reach for new members.

One reason is that the AAU thinks that it has gotten too large, and they want to keep the membership at a set number of schools.

In the last 20 years, 4 schools have joined, and 4 schools have left. Stony Brook and Texas A&M joined when Catholic University and Clark University dropped out. GT and Boston U joined when Syracuse and Nebraska left/removed.
