I never said Clemson and FSU were playing hardball with ND.


My post was strictly looking at the relationship between the 14 schools (excluding Notre Dame since it isn't a full member) and the ACC.

A possible reason a school may have decided to sign the GoR even if it is somewhat unhappy about the ACC's situation is that was the best option that was available at the time. Either sign the GoR or risk getting kicked out of the conference (a la Temple) and the possibility of not finding a new home that is at least equal to (or better than) the ACC.
