They bring a state with same population as Utah.


I'm just looking at it from a standpoint of selling the PAC12 network, which is one of the two reasons to expand. The other is to get more visibility on the east coast which requires games in Central Time Zone. That's what Houston can help them do.

Utah had some success when Urban Meyer was there in football and when Rick Majerus was there in basketball making them a bit more sexy. But Nevada is in a market about the same size. Their teams have had some recent football and basketball success too.

The PAC12 coaches are complaining about travel and night games as it is. Having another member much closer in terms of travel would be better received than one a great distance away.
