That's exactly the school's viewpoint...


They have to enforce a rule, no exceptions. Otherwise, lawyer mom and dad show up and press lawsuits etc, it's just easier - and much cheaper - to prohibit everybody.

I can see the problem here, someone shows up with their 23 year old unemployed, bad boy, boyfriend. Probably not a great idea, maybe it's a recurring problem. So you ban people who are over 18 from attending. Period. Easy to enforce legally.

So now grandma shows up, everyone wants to make an exception and yeah, it doesn't hurt anything so why not?

Well, 23 year old boyfriend student sues for discrimination. Oh by the way, she's black (or white) LGBGT and the issue explodes. You get into a lot of trouble and work making exceptions so back t square one. No exceptions.
