Nor does your argument even consider most of those tie ins and all the big money ones have existed for many years prior to the conferences that now exist. The historical tie ins of the Rose, Sugar, etc. existed long before any of the current conference leadership was in existence and those relationships are not changing in any short window no matter how good a conference might become. So how is being way behind now any different than being way behind before?
