Yes, she played for UVA and even help lead the team to the Final Four

3 times. UVA lost to Stanford, Tennessee, and Stanford again (see article). Maybe she has no desire to coach at UVA for one reason or another. Also, I would think that administration and a fanbase may place extra pressure on a former player coming back to become HC of a program especially if that former player was a star (and I think Dawn was) during his/her collegiate days. If Danny Manning decided to never become the Jayhawks' HC, then that may be 1 of the reasons. Duke's next HC (once Coach K retires) could get interesting since there are several former players who are having success as HC at lower tier schools.
