You miss the point.


No way did the Pitts and Penn States or even the WVUs want to have anything to do with Memphis or Southern Miss or even Louisville.

Tech was very, very fortunate to make the cut to the Big East. It was the 8th team in an 8-team league, and primarily because PSU and FSU were not available. Happily, Tech got more out of BEFC membership than anyone.
